From time to time I will vary my subject matter with a landscape or some equestrian art of emotions, but love and people remain my true obsession.

Mellow Creme is a Hip-hop artist in the mould of the old school romantics. Drawing inspiration from the greats (LL Cool J, Common, Nas, Marvin Gaye, R Kelly, Prince and the African legends Tuku, Chioniso, Hugh Masekela, Lira, Thomas Mapfumo and Prince Tendai) his subject matter is mainly love and pan Africanism.

“My stage name came from my rhyming style and how Ive always wanted tone the best at what I do. I wanna be the creme de la creme.” Coming from a generation that was not afraid to open up about their feelings and go against the grain, his strength is in his poetry and hoarse voice. An award winning Creative Director whose real name is Tabvi Motsi, Mellow is an all round artist and showcases his talents in various aspects of his communication. A song is not just a song to him. It is a collage, a painting, a sketch or sometimes a graphic design. Preferring live instrumentation he writes, records and performs with his band. His team plays a big part in production and arrangement and they have become a big part of his musical image.

In 2016 he released his debut album called Mellow Madness which is an expression of love’s dichotomy nature. Performing with a live band, Mellow Crème, brings to Africa a hiphop love story with a local meaning. Africa needs love and inspiration and Mellow Crème is all about that. This is Hip Hop for the ladies, Hip Hop for love and its Hip Hop for Africa.
